Iran's mobile network is extensive: the carriers (MCI/Hamrah-e Avval, Irancell, Rightel) offer good 4G/LTE in Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz and most cities. Two realities weigh heavily on travelers: because of international sanctions, foreign Visa and Mastercard do not work in Iran, and internet access is among the most heavily filtered in the world.
