What stands out about Purasim
187 countries covered
Single-country and regional plans across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Oceania, including China.
Volumes from 100 MB to 100 GB
One of the broadest volume ranges in our comparison : a 100 MB plan for a stopover, a 100 GB plan for a long remote-work stay.
1,916 unlimited plans with a daily cap
More than half the catalogue is sold as unlimited with a fair-use allowance renewed every day. The daily cap is shown in each plan detail.
2,252 plans on 5G
Purasim relies on local partner operators : two thirds of the catalogue declares 5G, the rest runs on 4G/LTE depending on the destination.
From 1 to 365 days
Durations span a single day to a full year, which makes Purasim usable for both a weekend and a long posting abroad.

Who is Purasim? The eSIM provider explained
Purasim sells prepaid travel eSIM plans : a profile you download onto an eSIM-compatible phone, with no physical SIM, no contract and no roaming bill from your home carrier. The profile is delivered right after payment and installs from a QR code.
The catalogue fits both occasional travellers and digital nomads. Short plans cover a city break, long plans run up to 365 days, and regional bundles put several neighbouring countries behind a single eSIM, which matters on a multi-country itinerary.
Like most of the market, Purasim does not run its own network. It resells access to partner operators country by country, the way a multi-network MVNO does. That is what makes coverage in 187 countries possible, and also why 4G/5G throughput varies with the destination and the local agreement behind it.
Half the catalogue is sold as unlimited data with a daily allowance : past that allowance the speed is reduced for the rest of the day, then the allowance resets. This fair use model is standard in travel eSIM and the per-day figure is listed on every plan on Datadopt, so you can weigh it against a fixed-volume plan before buying.
Is Purasim reliable? The brand is younger than references such as Airalo, and no aggregated Trustpilot or app-store score exists for it yet, so there is less public feedback to lean on than on the large names. The usual checks apply : confirm your iPhone or Android handset is eSIM-compatible, test the data connection on arrival before relying on it, and plan a VPN for China.
Purasim reviews: what we can and cannot say
Datadopt aggregates Trustpilot, App Store and Google Play scores when they exist. Purasim has no aggregated score on any of the three yet, so the assessment below comes from the catalogue itself rather than from user ratings.
Strong points in the catalogue
- Very wide coverage : 187 countries, with every popular destination we track available
- Volume range from 100 MB to 100 GB, which few providers in our comparison match
- Entry prices as low as 0.42 EUR per GB on the largest plans
- Durations from 1 to 365 days, so a long stay does not need stacked purchases
Points to watch
- No aggregated Trustpilot or app-store score yet : less public feedback than on established brands
- No top-up in the catalogue we list : a depleted plan means buying a new one
- Unlimited plans are capped daily, so the headline word hides a per-day allowance
- Throughput depends on the partner operator in each country, and 5G is not declared everywhere
Our take : Purasim is a sensible pick when the destination is unusual or the stay is long, because the catalogue reaches further on both counts than most. If public feedback matters more to you than catalogue depth, the alternatives Airalo, Nomad or Saily carry much larger review bases.
Purasim coverage: where do the plans work?
Purasim lists eSIM plans in 187 countries, as single-country or regional bundles. Here are the destinations travellers search for most, each linking straight to the filtered plans.

⚠️ Read this before buying for China
China blocks Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and much of the western web (the Great Firewall). A Purasim China plan runs on a local operator, so the blocking applies. Install a VPN before you fly (NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Proton VPN, Mullvad). Also check whether the plan you pick exits through Hong Kong, which is usually filtered less.
eSIM guides by destination
Purasim plan formats
Single-country plan
One eSIM for one destination. The right shape for a focused trip : 15 days in Japan, 10 days in Thailand, a week in the United States.
Regional plan
One eSIM across several neighbouring countries : Europe, South-East Asia, North America, the Middle East, depending on the zones offered.
Fixed volume
A total data allowance (1 GB, 5 GB, 20 GB, up to 100 GB) valid for the whole plan duration. The format to pick when you want a hard ceiling on spend.
Unlimited with a daily cap
Over half the catalogue : unlimited data with a fair-use allowance renewed each day. Past it, speed drops until the next day. The per-day figure is in each plan detail.
Purasim FAQ
How do I activate a Purasim eSIM?▾
Purasim emails a QR code after payment. On iPhone : Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → scan the QR. On Android : Settings → Network and internet → SIMs → Download a SIM. The plan starts on its first connection to a foreign network, so do not activate it before you land or you will burn validity at home.
Does Purasim work in China?▾
China is covered, but Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube stay blocked by the Great Firewall even on a Purasim plan. Install a VPN (NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Mullvad) on your phone BEFORE departure. Plans that exit through Hong Kong are filtered less : check the plan detail before you buy.
What does an unlimited Purasim plan actually give me?▾
Unlimited means no total ceiling, but a daily allowance : once the allowance for the day is used, speed is reduced until the next day, then it resets. That per-day figure is shown in each plan detail on Datadopt. If you need a hard, predictable volume instead, pick one of the fixed-volume plans, which run from 100 MB to 100 GB.
Can I use WhatsApp, TikTok and tethering with Purasim?▾
WhatsApp and TikTok work on the standard data plans, except in China without a VPN. Tethering (hotspot) is allowed on most Purasim plans ; the "hotspot" line appears in each plan detail on Datadopt, so check it before buying if you plan to share the connection with a laptop or a tablet.
How much does Purasim cost, and where is the discount code?▾
Prices depend on destination, volume and duration : the catalogue runs from entry plans to large long-stay bundles, and the cheapest land around 0.42 EUR per GB. Use the Discount code DATADOPT for 10% off at Purasim checkout (the button at the bottom of this page copies it for you).
Can I call and text with Purasim?▾
Purasim eSIM plans are data only : no phone number comes with the standard offers. To call and message, use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram or Signal over the Purasim data connection.
What happens when my Purasim plan runs out?▾
When the volume or the validity ends, the data connection stops. The Purasim catalogue we list does not expose a top-up option, so plan on buying a new plan for the rest of the trip, or pick a longer one up front : durations reach 365 days.
Purasim or Airalo: which one should I pick?▾
Purasim = 3,387 plans, 187 countries, volumes up to 100 GB and durations up to a year, but no public review base yet. Airalo = the market leader by volume, a very large review base and a mature catalogue, with a narrower spread of volumes and durations. Airalo is also on Datadopt : compare the two on your exact destination before deciding.
Is my phone compatible with Purasim?▾
Purasim works on eSIM-compatible handsets : iPhone XS and later (2018+), Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3+, Xiaomi 13+, recent Motorola Razr and global versions of recent OnePlus. Check for the "EID" field in Settings → General → About (iPhone) or in the SIM settings (Android). Our full eSIM smartphone compatibility guide lists every model in detail.
How fast is Purasim data?▾
It depends on the country and the partner operator : 2,252 plans in the catalogue declare 5G, the rest run on 4G/LTE, and throughput is lower in isolated areas. Each plan detail on Datadopt states the network it was sold on, so check it when speed matters for your trip.
