Internet in Israel: everything you need to know
Israel has four national networks: Pelephone, Cellcom, Partner and HOT Mobile. 4G is excellent nationwide, 5G is rolling out in the big cities, and internet penetration exceeds 90 % (source: ITU DataHub, 2024). EU roaming does not apply: without an eSIM, data gets expensive.
- ●Excellent 4G in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Eilat and along the highways. 5G covers the main urban areas. On Negev roads and around the Dead Sea, signal follows the main routes; it weakens in wadis and isolated hikes (Masada at dawn: decent coverage at the top).

- ●No blocked services: Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Netflix work normally. WhatsApp is the country's dominant communication channel.
