I built Datadopt because comparing eSIM plans meant opening thirty provider sites, each with its own units, its own currency and its own idea of what unlimited means. The site exists to do that work once, in the open, and to show the method rather than only the conclusion.
How I work
I write the collectors that read each provider catalogue, the queries that turn them into comparable figures, and the pages that publish them. That means the numbers on this site are not licensed from a data vendor : when one of them is wrong, it is mine to fix, and the fix lands in the code rather than in a correction note.
The working rule is that a published figure must be reproducible from the catalogue and dated. A price with no collection date behind it does not ship. A ranking that a single plan can flip does not ship either. The full set of rules is on the methodology page, and it is the same document I check my own work against.
When the data cannot answer a question, I would rather say so on the page than fill the gap with a plausible sentence. The audit that reorganised this site in October 2026 started from exactly that : figures that looked authoritative and were not.
What I do not claim
I am not a telecom operator and I do not run network measurements. Anything on this site about speed or congestion is a limitation, not a measurement.
I earn affiliate commissions on subscriptions made through Datadopt. They fund the collection and the writing, they do not weigh in any ranking, and the methodology page states plainly where that relationship does bias the site : which providers get integrated first.
